3/08: I'm in poor health, which limits my posting; MG addicts can check out my Beatles group blog, Hey Dullblog.

Jon calls this "a work of genius"--and I had to pay him almost nothing for the blurb. More mystery and mayhem in the Ivy League, mixing my world with real history to create something entertaining.

I've combed my archives to create this collection of my magazine humor. From The Yale Record to The New Yorker, the best of the pre-Barry years is in here.

My first non-parodic novel is now available! It's school like it ought to be: loud, eventful, and full of swearing!

I'm probably going to Hell for this C.S. Lewis spoof.

The ultimate Harry Potter parody. Three novels, 25 foreign editions, over a million copies sold--it's too much to list here, but you can read excerpts and buy the books at Barrytrotter.com!

The new Barrytrotter.com

Finally, after much work by myself and the redoubtable Martin Glazier, Yale Class of 2006 (okay, now I feel really old), the new Barrytrotter.com is here. Just in time for Barry Trotter and the Dead Horse!

Nice work! Just about to start that free sample of BT3...

Okay, I like what you did with the front page, the stack of books... that's okay. Hmmm... Oh well, at least it's better then before. I'm saying that that new site is like, 3 out of 5. Not enough "Barry Trotterness" I suggest you make a characters page and hire that illustrator Douglas Carrel to draw each character. I've always had trouble using my imagination. Actually no, I just want pictures. So, can you?

Blogger chrisjordan said ... (5:16 AM) :

There's a whole A-Z of characters and objects...

Blogger Hogwesian said ... (4:21 PM) :

No, no, I know that Chris. I meant I want pictures and the descriptions of the characters/objects illustrated by Douglas Carrel. Okay, so I know it'll cost money, but if you (Mike) can, ask Douglas Carrel to make a couple of pics.

Ah, I see now. Sorry. Just...pretend I never said anything.

Chris, glad you like it. Wesian, I'd love to ask DC to do some illustrations, but not only would that cost thousands of dollars, DC is so backlogged he couldn't even do illustrations for BT3 as was planned. So...maybe someday, but not at the moment.

May I just draw the author's attention to one small thing regarding the glossary...

FANNY, FANNY, FANNY, FANNY, FANNY!

Or lack thereof.

I may come across as obsessed with this character, but I am not. Honest.

Though I did laugh very hard when I first read her name.

Blogger Hogwesian said ... (11:56 PM) :

Thousands of dollars?! What, one drawing costs at least 200?!

Blogger Michael said ... (8:06 AM) :

Oh yeah, Wesian. At least $200 each; for somebody like Douglas probably a lot more. Keep in mind that each one would take multiple hours to do, and when you're doing one project, you can't do others--so it's an expensive proposition. I'm considering drafting some college students to do some illustrations, but they'd have to be really good. I actually asked DC to do some stuff for the new Barrytrotter.com back in February but his schedule was too full.

I didn't wanna show you this, but since you brought up drawing, what the hell. My hobby is drawing, and if you wanna see it, visit: http://www.geocities.com/drawproject
There's only two drawings at the moment, but more will be coming. So, whaddya think of me drawings?

Yeh, it's better than the old BT.com... but still lacking something... I have a BT site too... www.harrysscrapbook.co.uk/barrytrotter

Hey Mike, did u say Douglas Carell DIDN'T illustarte BT3??? I hope he did, if not, who did? AND why do all three UK BT3s have the same background picture of the library?!?!?!
